The first step in the process of change is to generate awareness regarding the causes of the various social problems at school level. KLP uses the IAA Framework to follow a three step approach:

  1. KLP engages influencers such as local institutions and decision-makers in the community to create awareness about importance of education for children.
  2. The various access points are leveraged to spread awareness and also act as meeting points for the various activities to be conducted.
  3. Activities are conducted for the children and by the children in community to highlight the impact of unhealthy practices and the need for change.

The second step is the creation of access to information, practices and products for improved quality of education. After the awareness generation activities are conducted it is imperative to provide access through the IAA Framework:

  1. KLP uses the influencers in the community and school ambassadors to identify and establish libraries at suitable locations within the schools or community.
  2. Information and books are provided through these libraries that act as access points in the community to ensure easy and convenient access for the children.
  3. Awareness generation activities are conducted to promote the dissemination of information regarding the social causes by the children and the availability of solutions in the market or in behaviour change to address the problem.

The next step is that of ensuring adoption of reading practices through voluntary participation at the libraries established.

  1. Participatory activities are designed to engage the children and enable them to understand the importance of education.
  2. Suitable and relevant access points and influencers/school ambassadors are identified to facilitate and accelerate behaviour change.
  3. Influencers/school ambassadors are used to encourage and facilitate the participation of the children in these activities.

The last step is appreciating the achievements and work of the children

  1. The parents, teachers, and the whole community encourages the children for their work and to go out and achieve more.
  2. Children are provide access to larger arenas to develop their skills and achieve their goals.
  3. Activities are conducted to celebrate achievements however small they are to encourage the children to continue and work towards their goals and bring a change amongst their community.
